This detailed master class contains the technique of working with polymer clay and will teach you how to make Keynes and beads from polymer clay.
For this technique of working with polymer clayyou will need: – Polymer clay in black, yellow, orange, blue and green colors – Toothpicks – Rolling pin – Foil – Blade – Cutting mold
From yellow and orange polymer clay we form figures with a drop-shaped cut.
From green PG we form a figure with a crescent on the cut. Also from green plastic we roll a sausage. From blue we form a "drop" and a sausage.
We cut all the teardrop-shaped figures vertically into two parts.
Roll out the black PG thinly into a layer using a rolling pin.
From half a blue drop we form a full drop and glue it with black PG.
We cut off the excess black polymer clay with a blade and glue the figure with orange halves on both sides.
We also glue the resulting figure with black plastic.
We remove the black excess and glue the yellow halves onto our bud.
We glue it back with black.
Now we glue the orange and yellow halves onto the bud at once.
We cut the blue plastic sausage crosswise.
We glue one half to the base of the bud.
We glue the entire structure with thinly rolled black polymer clay.
We press the plastic tightly to the base, outlining all the curves, and remove the excess.
We form a “half” from the green sausage and roll out the black plasticine.
We glue the green half with black and attach the blue one to the base.
We glue the parts together and get a multi-layered “half”.
We glue this half to the base of our bud.
We cover the structures with a layer of black PG.
Roll a black sausage. Put it into a green crescent.
We sharpen the green part.
We glue the flattened black sausages to the base of the bud.
At this stage we should have two products - a sausage with a bud and a sausage-leaf. Gradually stretch the bud and leaf to a length of at least 20 cm.
Using a blade, divide the stretched sausages into 5 parts.
We stretch out the leaves. We sharpen them on both sides.
We begin to form the cane. We lay out the buds and leaves alternately.
Roll out a piece of blue plastic. Wrap it in black.
We cut the sausage in half with a blade, fold it, cut it again and fold it.
Cut and fold again, roll the resulting structure into a sausage.
We use the sausage as a core and continue to lay out polymer clay cane pieces around it.
We form triangular elements from black plastic.
We insert these elements into the joints of the leaves and buds.
We fill all the joints.
We begin to smoothly compress the cane.
We stretch the cane with our hands and roll it out slightly.
When squeezing and stretching, the edges of the drawing become blurred, so excess plastic with a blurred drawing can be safely cut off.
We compress the cane to the required size and make a control cut.
To form beads, prepare toothpicks, foil, scraps and plastic scraps, a cutting form, a rolling pin, and make thin cuts from the cane.
We roll out the plastic scraps with a rolling pin.
We cut out many identical pieces with a mold. These are the bases for the beads.
We roll the pieces into balls.
We glue two cuts of cane to each ball. The joints of the cuts are carefully connected.
Roll out the polymer clay bead, keeping the ball shape, until it becomes perfectly round and smooth.
We make a hole in the bead with a toothpick and stick it directly into the foil using this toothpick (the foil needs to be formed into a dense, stable lump).
All that's left is to bake it and you can create unique beads, earrings, bracelets and whatever your heart desires.
