For creating jewelry from polymer claywith your own hands you will need: For work you will need: – Rolling pin – Polymer clay white and blue – Pendants in the form of turtles (or any other) – Schwenz – Circle-shaped cutters (standard set, diameters 1.5: 2.5: 4 cm) – Blade – Rings for assembly (2 pcs. with a diameter of 7-8 mm, 2 pcs. with a diameter of 4-5 mm, 1 pc. with a diameter of 8-10 mm, reinforced) – Glass/cup or large round cutter – Tool for assembling jewelry – round nose pliers – Gloss varnish – Cable with lock for pendant – Sandpaper
Knead and roll out the white and blue plastic. We form rectangular layers of small thickness from them.
Place the layers on top of each other and roll them tightly with a rolling pin.
Using a blade, cut the resulting layer in half.
We stack the layers on top of each other to make the cut “striped.”
Roll out the resulting layer on both sides with a rolling pin to make it thinner.
Cut it in the middle into two equal parts.
Again, we stack the halves on top of each other so that the “striations” are preserved on the cut.
We roll the resulting element so that the layers stick together properly. After this we make several side cuts.
Knead and roll out another small piece of white plastic. Roll out thinly, this will be the basis for the earrings.
We lay out the sections on white plastic to create a striped pattern.
Roll out the strips until thin, making sure that the striping is not disturbed. You need to roll it out to such a size that a cutter with a diameter of 4 cm fits on the plastic at least four times.
Using a blade, cut a piece of thin layer according to the shapeslightly larger than a four-centimeter cutter. We place the cutter with the sharp side up, and place the layer on the cutter with the striped side down. Use your fingers to gently press on the center of the plastic to create a small indentation.
When the plastic sticks slightly to the edges of the cutter, turn it over and place it on the white part of the striped layer. We press.
We get a volumetric element.
Repeat for the second element.
You should get two elements identical in number of strips, size and volume.
Now with the smallest cutter in the center inWe give the upper half of each volumetric element a round hole. If it seems that “everything is about to burst,” then use a blade to make a small incision in the part of the element that will be cut out, and then, as you apply pressure, excess air will come out of this hole.
We take out the cutter and get this element.
We repeat the process.
In each element, in the thinnest part, we make a hole with a toothpick.
Roll out white or blue plastic intolayer 3-5 mm thick. (We use whatever plastic is left, you can mix the leftovers (except for the element with striped sections!), this plastic will be used for the base).
We cut striped sections from the leftovers.
Place the strips on the blue plastic and press them tightly. There should be no gaps between the strips. The stripes should not overlap each other.
Roll out the strips into a layer.
As a result, the layer should be at least 2 mm thick.
The size of the layer should fit two glass diameters.
When all conditions are met (width, thickness), cut the plastic into two parts.
Cover the glass with striped plastic, the stripes pointing down. Use your fingers to form a depression.
Cover the glass with plastic with a second layer,the stripes point up. We press along the edges of the glass with our fingers, “pulling” it. upper layer. It is necessary to mold both layers so that more air remains inside the element.
We turn the structure over. Using a glass, like a cutter, cut out a large circle.
We get a large volumetric element.
You need to cut a hole in it. We use a cutter with a diameter of 2.5 cm.
We get a large volumetric pendant.
Make a hole in the thin part with a toothpick.
Let's bake. Do not exceed the baking temperature indicated on the packaging of the plastic you are working with. After baking, we prepare to process and assemble the kit.
If the edges of the elements are uneven, sand them with sandpaper.
After sanding, remove the dust and coat the elements with varnish.
When the elements have dried, you can assemble the earrings. Each earring requires a plastic element, a pendant, an earring, a ring with a diameter of 6-7 mm and a ring with a diameter of 4-5 mm.
We spread the large ring and insert it into the plastic element.
We put the pendant on the same ring.
We clamp the ring and repeat for the second earring.
We spread the small ring and hang the earwire on it.
We hang the element with the pendant on the ring with the earwire and clamp the ring.
We repeat with the second earring and get the cutest earrings with a “marine” mood.
We move apart the “reinforced” ring.
We put the pendant on it and insert it into the pendant from the inside.
On the back side of the pendant, we insert the finished cable with a lock into the same ring.
The set is ready!
