This master class will teach how to make postcards with your own hands in quilling technique.
Cardmaking involves manual executioncards using scrap materials. Each such product is unique, as a lot of time, effort and energy of the master is invested in it. Most often, materials such as designer paper and cardboard of various textures, colors, patterns are used, as well as many decorative elements in the form of ribbons, brads, rhinestones, glitters and so on.In the presented master class a postcardis performed using the quilling technique. This technique is also known to many as "paper twisting", since quilling is the creation of patterns from twisted paper. In the work, you can use special paper for quilling or make it yourself by cutting strips of colored paper 5 mm wide. To make a greeting card, you need to prepare the following materials:
From green design paper with a pattern, cut out a 9x20 cm piece. From white cardboard, cut out an 8x19 cm piece. On the back side of the rectangle we attach squares of tape, then attach the part to the base. It is important to use foam tape, becausehow it can be used to give the card a "voluminous" look. Rectangles glued with glue will not look the same in the finished product. We attach a white rectangle in the same way using foam double-sided tape.Using a hole punch, make three flowers from green patterned paper or cardboard. We take green rhinestones and attach them to the center of each flower.Take quilling paper, dark green and light green, 5 mm wide. You will need 4 strips of both colors, 40-50 cm long.We divide all 8 strips in two. We take one strip of light green and one strip of dark green, we smear the edge of one with glue.We glue them together into one two-color strip.Using a quilling tool, we form a two-color roll, starting with the light green one.We unravel it a little and coat the edge with glue.We give the finished roll the shape of a drop. You will need 6 of these parts. We form a flower from the ready-made drop-shaped elements by gluing them together. We take one of the previously prepared flowers with a rhinestone and attach it with glue in the center of the flower. We attach the finished flower to the base on the right side.We also attach the other two flowers to the base.Cut off about 4-5 cm of quilling paper so that the edges are cut at an angle. We give it a semicircular shape and attach it to the base using glue.We make the same details from dark green and light green paper, then attach them to the base.We cut 8-10 cm of quilling paper of two colors, connect the strips together on one side, and the other edge of both remains free.Starting from the free edges, we twist the piece with a quilling tool, without reaching the end.We coat the resulting curved part with glue.We attach it to the flower. When finished, decorate the card with rhinestones of different sizes. You can decorate as in this example, or you can decorate with rhinestones at your discretion.A very beautiful holiday card made by hand is ready!
