This master class will teach you how to make an interesting craft with your own hands – snowman from a sock.
As they say, everything ingenious is simple, and even a child can handle it, with a minimum of time and money. So, to make snowmen from socks we will need:
- white sock
- colored sock
- a circle of cardboard about 4 cm in diameter
- filler for a snowman
- Threads (usual sewing and woolen for pompons)
- Beads, bows, hair clips, brooches, ribbons for decoration
- pencil lead.
In many master classes on makingsnowmen for the body, the upper part of the sock is used, which is tied with a thread at the bottom and top, but then the overall appearance is, in my opinion, not very aesthetic, besides, in this case the snowman will be unstable. Therefore, for the body we will take the toe part of a white sock and a circle of cardboard. We insert the cardboard into the toe part of the sock. Now we need filler.I used rice, but the snowman can also be filled with regular cotton wool, fabric scraps, plastic balls, other cereals, or aromatic fillers (for example, dried herbs or coconut flakes with vanilla). If you are also going to use cereal as a filler, then to prevent bugs from starting in it, you can add a little coarse salt. Pour in the cereal and carefully fill the sock, slightly stretching the fabric so that the body turns out dense.Next, we cut off the excess fabric and carefully sew it up.from above. Now we find the place where the snowman will have a neck. Lightly press the grain there with your fingers so that the neck is outlined, and then use threads to tighten the sock in this place. We will then hide the seam with the collar of the sweater. Now let's start decorating.Take a colored sock, and the brighter it is, the more interesting the snowman will be. Cut it as shown in the picture. The top part will be needed for a fur coat, and the toe part - for a hat. I have a terry sock on the inside, I like these on snowmen the most.Dress our snowman. Turn up the collar of the sweater and the edge of the hat. Due to the fact that there is an elastic band of the sock at the bottom of the sweater, the threads will not come out of it.We press the top of the cap inward. You can sew it on if it suddenly becomes loose. If your sock allows, you can fold the cap to the side, like a beret. My sock is too thick for this. Our snowman now looks like this.Next, we make pompoms for the hat. We take woolen threads and wind them around 3 fingers. The more threads we wind, the fluffier the pompoms will be.We remove it from our fingers and tie it in the middle with a thread.Cut with scissors from both ends. The end result is this. All that remains is to trim the threads and fluff up the pompoms. We make 2 such pompoms and sew them to the hat.We decorate the snowman with beads, sew on the eyes and move on to the nose. For this, we will need a pencil lead of a suitable shade. It must be sharpened and attached to the snowman's face. The best way is to glue the nose with a glue gun. And the final touch is to take some slate crumbs and brown the cheeks. These are the cute guys I got.
