Openwork lambrequin with his own hands on the Creative Competition 2016, patterns of curtains
Having renovated the room, the question arosemaking curtains for the window. There is no way to buy what you want, ordering is expensive and they won't make what you want. So you have to do it yourself. Which one? Where can I take a peek? There are no answers to the questions. And I decided to peek at the drawing from those who are friends with a jigsaw.
I needed materials and tools: Fabric, scissors, measuring tape, ruler, sewing machine, pencil, iron. Where to start? Well, of course, with making a stencil.
Where can I get a drawing?To help the Internet - a saw-cut pattern in house carving. Having selected, in my opinion, the most acceptable options, having collected together - we get a pattern, transfer it to a piece of wallpaper and cut it out. We get a stencil - ½ the length of the cornice.
We prepare the bando, I used the scraps, i.e.e not enough width everywhere In places where there is not enough width of the bando, we cut and insert, melt when gluing the fabric and the joints are not noticeable. We regulate the heating of the iron, because synthetic fabrics can be melted. Bando is a rigid non-woven base with a uniform application of hot-melt glue. To make the lambrequin rigid, bando is used, and since there is hot-melt glue - the fabric is easily glued with an iron. We apply a pattern using a stencil on the bando and glue the fabric. It remains to cut and process the edges with a zig-zag seam. The procedure is difficult, long, requiring patience and skill. But the result is worth it. Here is what happened
