Unusual sofa from the London phone booth
Upholstered furniture in the living room usually becomesone of the central elements of the interior, around which the rest of the space is built. And if the sofa is red, and also made from an unusual object, then such furniture will become the main highlight, immediately attracting attention with both color and shape. We are talking about an unusual sofa made from a real London telephone booth, which has become one of the symbols of the capital of Great Britain. Everything unnecessary was removed from the booth - the telephone and all the electronic stuffing, glass windows, door and partitions. The appearance of the booth, which became the basis for the sofa, was put in order, repainted in a bright red color and the inscription was updated. Soft pillows are sewn from leather also red, almost tone on tone matching the color of the booth. The upholstery is made in a classic style, "diamonds" with covered buttons.
The unusual sofa was made as part of the event that took place inIn 2012, the BT Artbox exhibition in London saw designers and artists transform classic telephone booths into art objects. Mostly, the booths did not change their purpose, remaining telephone booths, they were simply painted, decorated and covered with the most incredible drawings. And only Benjamin Shine completely rethought the function of the booth, turning it into an elegant and at the same time eccentric sofa. Such a seat can be imagined both in the interior of a modern apartment, and somewhere in public places, shops or waiting rooms.
The idea was so popular with London residents and visitors that the first red sofa-booth had followers, albeit in different colors.
