Elegant wreath-candlestick on the window
December 13 in Catholic and Protestantcountries celebrate St. Lucia Day, although this holiday is usually associated with Scandinavia. Legend has it that St. Lucia secretly brought food to the caves where persecuted Christians hid. To free both hands for the load, she attached burning torches or candles to a hoop on her head. This is where the tradition of choosing and crowning a girl or young woman "Lucia" comes from, who is dressed in a white dress and put on a wreath of burning candles, after which a solemn procession of children and young people begins. Today's project is inspired by this holiday. We offer a master class on how to make an elegant, delicate and sophisticated wreath-candlestick with your own hands, which can be hung on a window. For work you will need the following materials:
- metal ring with a diameter of 20-30 cm;
- candlestick on the clip;
- fresh twigs of greenery;
- thin wire;
- leather lace;
- scissors.
Master-class how to make a wreath-candlestick with your own hands
⇒ Step 1 The project uses twigseucalyptus, but in our latitudes it is difficult to find fresh eucalyptus, so you can use branches of any plants: rosemary, mint, willow, thuja, spruce, etc. Cut small branches if necessary.⇒ Step 2 Cut several pieces of thin wire 5-8 cm long.⇒ Step 3 Place the green twigs on the bottom of the ring with the roots towards the center. Attach each twig with wire at the base and at the top.⇒ Step 4 Continue attaching branches to the bottom of the ring. Try to hide the wire under the leaves.⇒ Step 5 The project uses a candlestick onclip. If you can't find one, try attaching another small candlestick to the center of the ring with wire and masking the attachment point with branches.⇒ Step 6 To hang the wreath candle holder, tie a ribbon, braid or leather cord.Ready! Attention!The wreath-candlestick is more decorative, so if you decide to light a candle, do not leave it unattended under any circumstances, otherwise there is a risk of fire. Source: homedit.com
