It is used more often as a winter shelter for perennials. Small gravel, pebbles. An expensive type of mulch, but durable. Can be used for paths between flowers, allows moisture to pass through, has a very decorative appearance and many colors and fractions. Nut shells, cones or needles. Excellent mulch for the garden, has excellent water permeability, air permeability and aesthetic appearance. Inexpensive material if there is a forest nearby.
