How to make a useful refrigerator bag on the basis of an ordinary travel bag. A simple master class on making a refrigerator bag with your own hands
A cooler bag can help you in the summerperiod of time and will help out even on the hottest days. It will keep soft drinks and alcoholic beverages cold, keep food fresh and prevent them from spoiling for a fairly long period of time. You can take it with you in the car if you plan on a long trip, or you can just take it with you to the beach. Often, such bags are taken with you on an outdoor vacation with tents. This is, without a doubt, a necessary and useful thing for any person. And the most important thing is that such a wonderful cooler bag can be made from scrap materials.
To make a cooler bag with your own hands we will need:
- A travel bag of any size (depends on what size you need);
- foamed polyethylene with a layer of foil, which is sold in almost all construction shops and buy it will not be a big problem;
- foam rubber;
- wide scotch;
- bottles of plastic;
- usual salt.
After you have prepared all the necessarymaterials, you can directly begin making a cooler bag. The first thing you need to do is measure the height, length and width of the bag you have chosen. Write down the resulting dimensions and subtract 4-6 cm from each.
After this, you will need to cut a box to the size of the bag from foamed polyethylene, which we place inside the bag.
Seal all joints and connections tightly.tape, so as not to lose the thermal effect! Be sure to take into account that polyethylene will also be needed for the box lid. To enhance the effect, you can make another box, but smaller in size, and place it in the first one.
Then we will get a stronger effect and the cold in the bag will be preserved longer. The box should be pressed tightly against the walls of the bag so that it does not dangle in it and does not lose its shape.
The main part of the cooler bag is done.Now we need to make cold containers. They are also used in branded cooler bags, so we will do the same. Plastic bottles will serve as containers. The capacity of the bottles depends on the size of your bag, so choose between 0.5-1 liter bottles. Pour a very concentrated solution of table salt into the bottle (6-8 tablespoons of salt per liter of water) and leave it in the freezer until completely frozen. Instead of plastic bottles, you can use rubber heating pads. After the bottles with the saline solution are completely frozen, you can put them in the bag and use it for its intended purpose.
Some tips for use1.Place the cold containers every 12-15 cm for better efficiency. With this arrangement, the food will stay cool for a long time. 2. Wrap all the food separately in newspapers to increase thermal insulation. 3. Put several frozen hot water bottles with a salt solution and a towel on top of the food, and then close the lid. A homemade cooler bag can keep the cold for a whole day! It will be convenient to take it on a picnic or on a trip!
