You can sew absolutely anything with your own handsan unusual but spectacular thing. Let's now consider another version of a sundress for women. You don't need to devote much time to sewing such clothes. Creating a sundress does not require ideal knowledge of cutting and sewing from the fair sex. Even a beginner can cope with the task, you just need to strictly follow the instructions. The main thing is to choose the right fabric. Satin, gauze or viscose will look great as a beautiful sundress. First, you need to start constructing a sundress pattern. You should take several measurements. Here is a visual example:

  • Chest circumference – 92 centimeters;
  • Waist circumference - 72 centimeters;
  • Hip circumference - 100 centimeters;
  • The distance between the most prominent parts of the chest is 22 centimeters;
  • Chest height - 27 centimeters;
  • Length of the front part to the waist - 44 centimeters;
  • Shoulder length - 12 centimeters;
  • The length of the product from the waist to the bottom is 55 centimeters;
  • Neck circumference - 36 centimeters;

You need to start constructing from the upper left edge. There we put point A, draw 2 straight lines to the left and right sides. From A to the right area we put aside a third of the half-girth of the neck along the line and add another half a centimeter and down we put aside a third of the half-girth of the neck with an addition of one and a half centimeters. We draw the line of the front neckline. From point 6.5 to the right we measure 4 centimeters, and then 1 centimeter down. Through 6.5 and 1 we draw a line equal to the length of the shoulder with an addition of 25 centimeters. At an angle of 90 degrees to the resulting line we draw another one. Its length will be 20 centimeters. From 6.5 we put aside 44 centimeters and draw the waist line. From the waist line we measure down 55 centimeters and draw the bottom line horizontally. We measure 27 centimeters along it and draw the side line.photoinstruction for the pattern. Photo # 2Draw a concave line connecting the side line withsleeve. Let's start constructing the sundress pattern on the grid. From the center line, measure 11 centimeters to the right area (half the distance between the protruding parts of the chest). From point 1, measure 27 centimeters down. The "Center of the chest" is needed to correctly construct the pattern of the future product. From point 7.5, measure 13 centimeters down along the center line. From the "Center of the chest", measure 6 centimeters to the top and 1 centimeter to the right. From the point "Shoulder length", measure 16 centimeters on a segment in the right area. Connect all 3 points with smooth concave lines. To construct the back detail, you will need to deepen the neckline slightly, or more precisely by 5 centimeters. Additionally, you should draw a sewn-on sleeve detail 15 centimeters long.photoinstruction for the pattern. Picture №3We make cutting details.With a width of 140 centimeters, you will need 2 lengths of the sarafan according to the pattern. Want to save a little? Then make a seam along the back, and the fabric consumption will be significantly reduced, and will be 1.5 lengths. From the main material, you need to cut out:

  • Front part - 1 element with a fold;
  • Back part - 1 element with a fold;
  • Sleeve detail - 2 elements with a fold;

Straps:one is approximately 60 centimeters long, and the other two are 55 centimeters each and 3 centimeters wide. Additionally, it is necessary to cut out bias facings for the neckline and sleeves. The facing width is 3 centimeters. Seam allowances are 1 centimeter, along the bottom of the product and the attached sleeve parts - 2 centimeters. We begin sewing the sundress. Sew the side seams and the upper short seams of the sleeves, process the allowances. Along the neckline of the front and back, as well as along the upper cutouts on the one-piece sleeves, the allowances must be cut off. We stitch along the edge. Their length should be about 4 millimeters. We gather the material.photoinstruction for the pattern. Photo №4We process the neck and sleeves with bias stitchesfacings, that is, we place it with the front side on the processed edge, and stitch it at a distance of 0.5 centimeters from the edge. We wrap the allowance with a facing, turn the open edge and baste. We stitch the facing along the edge. Sew the sleeve details along the allowances and process. Turn up the allowances along the bottom and stitch everything. The straps need to be turned up on both edges by half a centimeter. Fold the front side in half outward and stitch along the edge. We baste the straps along the markings, adjust the length, and stitch. The bottom of the sundress must be turned up and stitched. Your sundress is ready! You can wear with pleasure a thing in which you put a lot of effort. A sundress is comfortable, light and elegant clothing that is in every woman's wardrobe. photoinstruction for the pattern. Photo №5When the preparatory work was completed,The patterns are designed, you can start sewing. The front darts can be transferred to the side ones. Transfer the pattern to tracing paper, cut off the straps and the neck. You need to make a special cut along the back, and also transfer it to tracing paper and cut off the excess. Cut out all the details from the prepared material. The front darts need to be stitched. Stitch the back seams, as well as the side seams. Now you need to try it on and check if everything is done correctly. If everything is correct, then continue working, and if not - correct the shortcomings. Overlock the seams, and then iron them.photoinstruction for the pattern. Photo №6It should be noted that the staple is verywrinkles and slips, so beginners should not sew a sundress from such material. It is better to take a denser fabric. Now we proceed to cutting out the skirt. First, you should cut off the excess from the fabric in a straight line, and then cut off a strip for the straps of the sundress (about 8-9 centimeters). The remaining fabric must be cut in half - you get two panels of the skirt. We cut the back panel vertically so that you can sew in a zipper. We sew the details along the side seams, process them on an overlock, and then iron the seams.photoinstruction for the pattern. Photo №7Along the top edge of the skirt, sew two lineswith a long stitch length, and gather the material to the waist circumference. Baste and sew the skirt to the bodice, then overlock. Sew the concealed zipper using a special foot. Sew the back seam of the skirt. Let's work on the straps. The part should be glued with interlining, folded in half and sewn. Cut, and then overlock. Turn the parts inside out and iron. Now attach the straps to the bodice of the sundress. Let's work on the facing of the bodice. Cut out the facing from a separate piece of fabric. You now have two parts. Glue them with interlining and baste them to the bodice.photoinstruction for the pattern. Photo №8Stitch on the machine, cut off all the excess andoverlock. The straps should be sewn in at the same time as the facing. Then turn inside out and iron. The hem of the sundress should be overlocked. The edges should be folded over, glue them with adhesive web. That's it! The sundress is ready!
