This master class will teach how to sew with your own hands a children's fox costume for a girl
The fox is not only cunning and smart, but alsoa very beautiful little animal. In fairy tales, Fox Patrikeevna is not always a positive character, but she is always loved by children who like the fox's intelligence and quick wits. Our master class will help you sew a Fox costume for a carnival. Children's carnival costumes: Fox
The Fox costume might be to your tastea cheerful, inquisitive and fashion-loving girl. Despite the simplicity of sewing, this carnival costume is very beautiful due to the use of bright and different textured fabrics. For the Fox costume you will need:
- orange silk or satin, the fabric should be bright and shiny;
- snow-white and orange (exactly falling into the color of the main fabric) tulle for the tail;
- snow-white lace;
- White braid, small apron, bows for decoration;
- elastic band for horsemen;
- and of course all the seamstress's accessories - needles, sewing machine, threads, cutting tools.
Besides, it is impossible to sew withoutavailability of equipment and materials: sewing machine, overlock, scissors, threads. Dress The dress for the Fox costume is sewn very simply, even a full-fledged pattern is not required, just look at the diagram.
To cut out the bodice, take your daughter's T-shirt andoutline the front and back. Make a cut on the back so that the child's head can pass through, since the dress fabric does not stretch, you need to add another 2 centimeters on each side. On the front of the dress, make a yoke from white fabric. For it, cut the white fabric in a semicircle. To make the semicircle of the neckline and the yoke coincide, fold the parts in the center and outline the neckline and the cut using the same principle with an equal span.
The skirt is cut out even more simply – simplea rectangle whose height is equal to the length of the skirt. And the longer the rectangle, the more voluminous the skirt will be. Make a gathering with a basting at the top of the skirt and stitch it with a belt to the top part of the dress. The seam line can be finished with a satin belt.
If desired, you can cut out the sleeves -wings or make them straight. But this lush style of the suit is more harmoniously suited with "lanterns". For their cut, a wider size of the upper part will be required, which must be gathered with 2-3 tucks to the desired size of the armhole of the dress.
Pin the sleeves to the dress and try it on if everything is OK.fits well, then you can sew the details or continue adjusting the suit to the girl's dimensions. Since silk and satin usually crumble a lot, it is advisable to process each detail on an overlock, especially since we will not hem the hem or sleeves. After preparing all the details, start sewing: first the bodice, then the sleeves and skirt. Just do not forget to place the skirt seam at the back.
Then proceed to finishing the dress.A cutout is left on the back, which will be tied with ribbons. Therefore, when processing the neck, cut off the tape with a large margin to make ties on the back. Sew the neck and the slit for the head with white tape, immediately leave the tails of the tape to tie the dress. Decorate the dress with a white apron in the front - a real fox always has a white front. Sew the hem of the dress in two layers of white openwork lace. Lace in two layers gives a more lush, even playful look, which is what a fox costume should be. There should be a small gap between the layers of trim.
Small bows can be sewn onto the neckline andthe back, where the tail will start. They are made of fleece or ribbons, by grabbing in the center of the parts. It is better to make a bow in two layers and decorate the middle with a large sparkling rhinestone.
The tail is the fox's main decoration, itsneed to be made as lush and beautiful as possible. For the tail we will need tulle, which needs to be cut into long rectangles. Beautifully gather the orange tulle vertically and sew it along the back seam of the skirt from the waist and a little before reaching the hem of the skirt. The more tulle, the more lush the tail, so do not skimp on material. White tulle needs to be gathered horizontally and much more strongly, and then sewn under the folds of the orange tulle. You will get a beautiful orange fox tail with a white tip. Such a tail will be unusual and unique, it looks even more luxurious than a red fur natural tail.
Trousers Trousers are supposed to be sewn under the Fox's dress. To cut them out, find the girl's pants and redraw the back and front parts. An approximate cutting pattern is shown in the picture.
Then transfer the pattern onto the fabric and cut outtwo front and two back parts of the pants. Just like the dress, process the pantaloon parts with an overlock. Then sew the pants parts together on a sewing machine. Fold the top of the pants up so that you can insert the elastic. You can sew on an openwork elastic without hemming. which stretches very easily.
Step back 10 centimeters from the edge and sew on the white one.tape, inside which you also need to insert elastic bands to gather the bottom of the pantaloons. At the very bottom of the pants, if desired, you can also sew lace. The length of the pantaloons can be slightly below the knees or up to a third of the shin.
The Fox costume is ready!You can complement it with shoes in the same color as the dress, white lace socks and gloves. If you have a headband, you can make triangular fox ears from the leftover fabric and sew them to the headband. But these are all traditional decorations for the Fox carnival costume. Perhaps your girl will like a body art decoration more. To do this, you need to buy special paints and draw a fox muzzle on the girl's face. And you can go to the carnival!
