Decoupage of master-class wine glasses for the 2015 contest, decoupage with their own hands
The decoupage technique is very simple.Even a beginner can master it very quickly. This happened to me, I decided to master this technique and started with an interesting idea for the New Year. But what can be transformed beyond recognition with the help of New Year's decoupage? Almost everything! The most common option is decoupage of a New Year's bottle. But I went further and decided to make original New Year's glasses.
To make the New Year's table even more festive we will need:
- Glasses (glass)
- Napkins with a New Year theme (3 layers)
- Scissors
- Painting Scotch
- Degreaser (in my case - nail polish remover)
- Primer (acrylic)
- Acrylic paints
- Brushes
- Sponges made of foam rubber
- Varnish (acrylic transparent)
- Tapes and threads of beads
1.First, let's prepare the glasses: remove labels, thoroughly degrease the entire surface. Then seal the top of the glass with masking tape so that that part is left without decoration, since the glasses will be used for their intended purpose.
2.Next, cover the selected areas with white acrylic primer using a foam sponge. Leave them to dry. 3. While the coating on the glasses is drying, select designs from napkins. I want to make two identical glasses, so I select identical designs for each glass. If possible, the design is torn off rather than cut out.
4.After the primer layer has dried, we apply the napkin designs. Carefully apply the design to the selected area and apply PVA glue on top with a brush. My glue was very thick, so I diluted it a little with water. Glue each design. 5. After all the designs had dried, I continued decorating – applying acrylic paint to the glass with a sponge. It is important to choose a color so that everything matches. I managed to match it to the color of the napkin. In small steps, I achieved integrity and smoothed edges of the napkin design.
6. The final touch is to decorate the glasses. We apply some glitter to some of the drawings. We varnish the glasses.
I also made small bows on the legs.glasses, and decorated the top edge with a string of beads. In my opinion, everything turned out harmoniously and beautifully. Such glasses will definitely complement the New Year's table and create a special mood. I also decorated the bottle of champagne using the decoupage technique.
