Heroes hit Disney cartoon "Ugly I", funny one-eyed minions, so liked the audience that turned into a trend. Toys and accessories in the form of minions soldalmost at every corner, but it is much more interesting to create them with your own hand made of available materials: paper, rubber bands (with the help of a machine), kinder, cloth. We chose the easiest ways to create a minion with our own hands - from paper in the papier-mache technique.

How to make a minion with your own hands from paper

The Italian art of creating three-dimensional toysfrom papier-mache is called "piñata", the same name is worn by the products themselves. Piñata is very simple to manufacture, but the process of drying the workpiece takes several days. We will need:

Balloon;
a large sheet of cardboard (dimensions of at least 40 cm by 25 cm);
old newspapers;
corrugated or crepe paper;
PVA glue;
acrylic paints;
brushes.

Step 1 - make a foundation for the futureminion-piñata. We wrap a sheet of paper around the balloon and fix the ends with tape. The ball should protrude over the edges of the paper by about 1/2 - this will be the head of the minion. Step 2 - covering the substrate with a newspaper and glue mixture in the papier-mache technique. We dip the newspaper sheets into the PVA glue and wrap them around the base. Before gluing a new layer, it is necessary to allow the previous one to dry. It is enough 3-4 layers - if done more, the piñata will come out too dense and additional elements will be uncomfortable to fix. Step 3 - painting of the dried base. You will need a saturated yellow color. It is better to use acrylic paints, they have a denser structure than watercolors. Step 4 - pasting with corrugated or crepe paper. Cut the yellow paper into strips about 2 cm wide and make cuts along its entire length, not reaching the edge about 5 mm. It turns out a kind of garlands, which you need to paste the upper part of the future toy with your own hands. Step 5 - gluing additional elements in the form of the extremities of the minion and his clothes. We have prepared for you stencils that only need to be printed and pasted on a toy:

arms and legs;
mouth;
glasses;
costume.

Blanks for hands and feet are cut out of thickcardboard and then paste on them stencils. To piñata was stable, fasten the legs of the toy in the base of the foam plastic. Congratulations, you created a minion of papier-mâché with your own hands!

Other simple types of crafts in the form of a minion

The original suspension in the form of a minion can bemake a kinder, or rather, a plastic container for it. The costume and limbs are made of plasticine or polymer clay, and glasses can easily be created from empty packaging from tablets. You can simply paint the surface of the kinder with acrylic paints, depicting the costume and tiny minion handles, or sew the clothes themselves with pieces of cloth. The mechanism of weaving of hand-made articles from rubber bands on the machine resembles macrame, using a hook and schemes.
