Every owner wants to make his home cozy andoriginal. Today, there are many ways to decorate the ceiling. Original stretch ceilings, all kinds of ceiling tiles, panels will not replace exclusive handwork. You can turn an ordinary concrete ceiling in your home into a work of art with minimal financial costs. The decoupage technique is not as difficult as it may seem. And it is possible that after decorating the ceiling, you will want to decorate the walls and objects in the room. And if something goes wrong, you can remove the glued pictures, so the idea of decorating with decoupage motifs is suitable for those who rent housing.
Let's get to work! Decoupage is usually done using special napkins, but in this project we suggest using black and white photocopies of pages from a book about birds.
Materials for work.You will need: books, a printer, manicure scissors, synthetic brushes, decoupage glue or PVA, water-based acrylic varnish, a clean cloth. Step 1Prepare the pictures. Find images with a clear silhouette that match the style of your home. Look for them in books about nature. Scan the pictures. You can change the contrast - increase or decrease, change the scale of the picture. Use a laser printer or an inkjet printer with pigment ink.
Step 2 Cut out the images.Using manicure scissors or a cutter, carefully cut out the images. Step 3 Prepare the ceiling. Remove old paint with a spatula if you see that it will soon fly off. Clean the ceiling with a brush or repaint it with paint. If you painted the ceiling with washable paint, then wipe it before decoupage.
Step 4 Decoupage.Carefully glue the images of birds and flowers onto the dry whitewash. You can lay out the cut-out illustrations on the floor and then glue them one by one to the ceiling. Take a little glue on a brush, grease the back side and press it to the ceiling. You can also use a glue stick, but only a high-quality one. Then, carefully press with a clean cloth and iron, driving out the air from under the paper. Cover the decoupage motif on top with matte acrylic varnish.Try decorating your home using decoupage technique!You will definitely like both the process and the result.
