In today's article, we offer one of the simple options for sewing an envelope-blanket, although it requires some effort to create a pattern on the fabric. After reviewing the material, you will get an answer to the question of how to sew an envelope for a newborn baby.From the very beginning, it is necessary to choose the right material for the product. We need to take:
- A piece of cloth, which includes 50% of silk and the same amount of cotton (this is the fabric used to work on patchwork products);
- a heater, in this case it is a sintepon;
- sewing pins;
- sharp scissors for cutting out;
- thread of the corresponding tone;
- paper millimeter square, whose sides are equal to eighty centimeters;
- needles;
- stabilizer;
- A simple pencil;
- special tissue marker, vanishing.
First of all, we need to come up withan interesting pattern that we will create on the envelope. You can also copy the image. Transfer it to the prepared graph paper. Using a marker or pencil, as you prefer, transfer the pattern to the stabilizer. Now let's start cutting the material. From the selected fabric, you need to cut out two square-shaped pieces with sides of ninety-five centimeters each. Immediately cut out the strips for edging the product. You will need four identical strips eight centimeters wide and one hundred centimeters long. Now take the fabric pieces and place the padding polyester between them. You can place one or two layers of padding polyester, depending on your needs. We place a stabilizer on the top of the product, onto which the selected pattern is applied.To prevent the stabilizer from slipping, we need to secure it well with sewing pins as shown in the photo.We need to sew the pattern carefully.The stitches should be the same, small in size. After the work is done, the paper should be removed. If there are small pieces of it left on the product, do not worry. During the first wash, they will be easily dissolved by water.Free areas of fabric should be filled with micro stitching. Start stitching from the middle. After the actions have been completed, you need to cut off the excesspadding polyester that protrudes beyond the edges of the product. It is best to cut it with a rotary knife. Now we proceed to the edging. For the edging we will use the strips cut out at the very beginning of the work.The envelope for the newborn baby is ready. You can choose the color scheme yourself, based on the baby's gender and your personal preferences.
