How to decorate a door handle with polymer clay, a master class on creating pens in the form of owls

The baked polymer clay is called so because the process of its solidification occurs under the influence of high temperatures from 110 to 130 ⁰ C. Those who have not worked with this material before, you should know that the temperature regime indicated on packages with clay should be strictly observed, otherwise you risk losing your handiwork hopelessly. If you bake not long enough, then the appearance of the product will be normal, but it will collapse very quickly, if you overdo the clay in the oven, then the product will burn, that you will agree, we do not need it at all. In addition, if there is excessive heat treatment, there is a risk of releasing harmful chemical compounds from the plastic. In this article, we will create door handles made of polymer clay in the form of owls. It will take quite a bit of time and a minimum of materials, most of which are in every house. As a result, you will receive an original design solution that will refresh the interior. Such products will be simply irreplaceable for the nursery. We need:

Thermoplastics (black, blue, white, dark and light purple, pink and orange);
Stationery knife and wavy blade;
Roller (paste-machine);
Toothpicks;
Shape in the form of a heart (medium size, you can use a confectionery mold) and a small round mold with a diameter of 0.7 cm;
Handles for furniture made of metal (round) can take old and worn;
Emery;
Acrylic paints of black and white colors;
Varnish for plastics.

So, we begin to decorate the handle of polymerclay. If you have clay from past work (the color is not fundamental), mash it to a good plastic state, roll it into the layer a layer of about 2 to 3 cm and wrap the handle. Cut off excess clay with a knife. Carefully smooth joints and irregularities. Now knead the plastic light purple and roll it into a similar layer. If you do not have a roll of acrylic or pasta machine, you can take an ordinary glass bottle. Only so that it does not have scars, stitches or notches. Again, the excess clay is cut off, and the joints are smoothed. You need to give the workpiece the appropriate shape, so select and sharpen the ears from one edge (see photo). We put our workpiece in the oven. After it has cooled down, we process itsandpaper to avoid unevenness. Roll out a layer of 0.7 - 1 mm of pink thermoplastic. Cut the heart shape from it with a blank and use the same cutter to divide the billet into two drops (see photo). From each drop cut semi-circular pieces all the same cutter. Now we take our pink blanks and attach them to the future owl. Fingers stretch the clay a little, so that it takes the shape of the ears. We make a similar layer of thermoplastic darkpurple. Cut out the same heart. We divide it along in half. It turned out again two droplets of a slightly larger size. We cut off the rounded parts, and we have two blanks that look like wings. We lay out the blanks below the pink plastic. We put the desired shape with your fingers, as in the photo. From a similar layer of white clay we cut outsmall round cutter 2 blanks. We take a clerical knife and do denticles along the perimeter of the circles. We have white circles, as shown in the photo. From the orange color of thermoplastics, form a droplet 5 mm long. Place it with the sharp end down. This is the tip of our little girl. It needs to be flattened with a finger, making it flat. We make from black thermoplastic two smallball and flatten them. It's the pupils. We fix in the middle white blanks. From white plastic we make two cakes with a diameter of 1 mm and two flat cakes with a diameter of 2 mm. Attach them to the black workpieces. We take a layer of blue clay and cut out wavyblade strip. It will only take a couple of pieces. We spread 3 wavy pieces on the owl's pussy from wing to wing. On the wings with a toothpick or a needle, press the furrows in the form of feathers. Pink ears also decorate the grooves from the eyes to the top. We send our billets in strict accordance with the instructions on the package. After the owls cool down, we begin to tonify the wings. We put white paint on them. Allow to dry a little and remove excess cloth. Toning pink details of the owl, we do the same way, just take the black paint. When everything is dry, we cover the owl with varnish for polymer clay. As soon as the lacquer dries, our pen is ready. Here such amusing little girls can decorate your kid's nursery.
